Central European Time (CET) is one (1) hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This time zone is in use during standard time in: Europe, Africa, Antarctica.
This time zone is often called CET. Some places observe daylight saving time/summer time during the summer, and therefore use CEST (Central European Summer Time) in the summer. An email sent from someone in the CET time zone will have the time zone listed as “+0100” in the headers of the email. (However, “+0100” does not have to be in CET, as other time zones could have the same UTC offset). This time zone also is known as “Also known as: ECT – European Central Time or CET – Central Europe Time” CET is observed in the geographic areas of Europe, Africa, and Antarctica.
